MEL JONES & HIS BAG O'BONES
Mel, was originally from Chapel Hill, NC, now living in Mocksville, begin his career as a member of a blues band. However, he discovered the hotbed of bluegrass and old time music deep in the heart of Western, NC.Picking up harmonica and venturing on to a new realm of music proved to be just another stop on the musical path for Jones.He has won first place in several harmonica competitions and is also an accomplished songwriter. Other members of this entertaining group are Don Story know as one of the finest guitarists around is from Wilkesboro, Kip Snow from Mocksville is a master of the mandolin, guitar & banjo, and Dan Campbell from Yadkinville has been a three time winner of the World Champion Bassist title of the annual Union Grove Fiddler's Convention. This award winning band are sure to entertain you with a mix of acoustic blues, jazz, bluegrass and a little bit of humor.
